Change of Shift

Trauma Diva's article was featured in Nurse Ratched's Change of Shift!

Many thanks to Nurse Ratched for featuring an article written by TraumaDiva in this month's blog carnival Change of Shift. I am very honored. I loved the theme of the thread Curious George. As always, Nurse Ratched is very creative.
One of my goals for 2009, explore further publishing. I have pulled from the archives of my computer several recessed stories, scripts, and my unpublished novel. This weekend, as I awaited my total revenue for three boxes of used books at Half Priced Books (a whopping $ 9.50 woo hoo) for the hundreds of dollars of literature and publishing agencies I have funded, I browsed some of the genres of the paperback world to see where said novel would fit. Romance, erotica, chick lit.
I have contemplated putting part of it online and self publishing it, serializing as it were. I have heard many horror stories of the publishing world today. Tough to find an agent. Tougher to make substantial earnings even with a best seller.
To date, I possess unpublished:
Angel of Mercy - a full length screenplay written for my Master's
synopsis: a male nurses story from West Texas hot oil trucker driver to RN, breaking all the stereotypes - hot hunk who values of family are tested to the limit
The Tangled Web - a full length novel synopsis: as a marriage of 15 years is on the brink, a bored expat nurse-wannabe-writer, living in Italy explores the ins and outs of internet relationships. She falls for a steamy, hot, romantic Australian online, meets up with him downunder, and attempts to survive the devastating consequences of an affair
To Err is Human - treatment
synopsis: a vivacious young mother tackles a Catholic divorce, an affair with her flight instructor, a love child, and a rebellious teen, amidst the pop-art vs. domestic suburb dichotomy of culture in the 60s
Oceans Between - outline synopsis: sequel to The Tangled Web set during the Sydney Olympics of the millenium
Do people read books anymore? One would think if you travel the aisles of bookstores. Ah, from wanna-be to author. Jane Austen, Danielle Steele, Sandra Brown, JK Rowling. One can dream for 2009.
